Booking & Arrival

Check-in is from 2:00 pm, giving you plenty of time to settle in and explore the property. Check-out is by 10:00 am.
If you require an earlier check-in or later check-out, please contact us before your stay. We will always do our best to accommodate requests where availability allows.

Yes. Subject to availability, exclusive use bookings are available for family reunions, retreats, weddings and special celebrations. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Our usual cancellation policy applies in the event of rain or other unfavourable weather.
Barney Creek is a country farm stay and many of our guests actually love experiencing the property in different weather — gumboots, puddles and cosy cottage afternoons included!
In the event of severe weather, flooding, road closures or conditions that make it unsafe to access or stay at the property, please contact us. Guest safety will always come first and we will assess these situations individually.

Barney Creek is located in the Scenic Rim, near Mount Barney, approximately 1 hour 45 minutes from Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
We recommend entering Barney Creek Cottages directly into Google Maps rather than relying solely on the street address.
You'll receive more detailed arrival and check-in information before your stay, including everything you need to find your cottage or campsite.
Important: Mobile reception can be limited in the area, so we recommend downloading your directions before leaving home. As you get closer to the property, you'll be travelling on country roads, so allow a little extra time and enjoy the drive!
Accommodation

Each cottage is fully self-contained and includes comfortable furnishings, a fully equipped kitchen or kitchenette, quality linen, towels, complimentary tea and coffee, air conditioning, BBQ facilities and access to the farm's shared amenities.

Breakfast is not included in your stay.
However, your cottage contains a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need. Alternatively you can visit one of the local cafes (subject to opening hours).

All of our cottages are self-catered and have their own kitchen or kitchenette facilities, making it easy to prepare meals during your stay.
Cottages contain crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, oil, salt and pepper. BBQ facilities are also available.

Wi-Fi is available in selected areas of the property. Due to our rural location, internet speeds may vary.

Mobile reception is limited on the property. While this can initially feel challenging, many guests enjoy using their stay as an opportunity to disconnect and unwind.

Yes. Complimentary parking is available for all guests, with a designated parking area for each accommodation.
Farm Experiences

Many of our farm experiences are included with your stay, including opportunities such as animal feeding, egg collecting and exploring the property.

Animal feeding is offered whenever possible, however as a working family farm, feeding times and guest participation are subject to animal welfare, weather and operational requirements.

Absolutely! Our farm experiences have been designed with families in mind. Children love meeting the animals, collecting eggs and exploring the farm under adult supervision.

The welfare of our animals is always our highest priority. While many of our animals enjoy meeting guests, some interactions may be limited depending on the animals' needs, the season or weather conditions.

Our farm animals and regular animal experiences are exclusive for guests staying onsite, and we don't currently offer general day entry to the farm.
However, we do offer occasional pre-booked farm experiences and special events throughout the year. Keep an eye on our website and social media for upcoming opportunities to visit the farm without an accommodation booking.
Please don't arrive at the property without a booking, as Barney Creek is a working farm and private accommodation property.
The Property

Yes. Barney Creek Farm Stay is a family-friendly destination with plenty of open space, farm animals and nature-based experiences for children to enjoy.
As with any rural property, children should always be supervised by an adult.

Yes! We know pets are part of the family. Our accommodation is pet friendly, and we welcome well-behaved dogs. However, for the safety of your dogs and our animals, all pets must remain on a lead while on the property.

Yes, weather permitting. Fire pits may be available during your stay, however they cannot be used during total fire bans or periods of extreme fire danger.

Guests are welcome to enjoy fishing in Barney Creek and the Logan River where conditions allow. Please ensure you comply with Queensland fishing regulations.

Yes! Guests are welcome to cool off in our swimming pool or enjoy a swim in the creek and river that run through the property. There is no lifeguard on duty, so children must always be closely supervised around water.

We do not have a cafe or restaurant on site. However, there is an array of cafes to visit in the local area.

Yes. Mount Barney National Park is just minutes away and offers everything from easy creek walks to challenging summit hikes, including the popular Lower Portals Track and Yellow Pinch Lookout.

The Scenic Rim is home to excellent cafés, country pubs, wineries and farm gate producers. We're always happy to recommend our favourite local spots during your stay.
Camping

$15/pp per night (age 3 - 11 years)
Children under 3 are free of charge.
We require a 50% deposit and then the remainder a week before you arrive.

We have two campgrounds, both with creek access.
Main - Silky Oaks Campground has two showers and two toilets.
Other Option - The Junction has toilets only.
You will need to book as we cap the numbers to 20 so we often book out.

Yes you can. The cost is $600 per night for up to 20 people. Additional people are $30pp per night for 12 years and over and $15pp per night for 3-11 year olds.

Yes! Campfires are one of the highlights of staying at Barney Creek Farm Stay. Fire pits are available for guests to enjoy, weather and fire conditions permitting.

Yes. Firewood is available to purchase during your stay. Please contact us before your arrival if you'd like us to have some ready for you.

No. Our campsites and Camping Cabin offer a peaceful, nature-based experience without powered sites, allowing you to truly disconnect and enjoy the beauty of the Scenic Rim.

Absolutely. We welcome well-behaved dogs. We simply ask that they remain on a lead at all times, are cleaned up after.
